Canon iR ADV 525 III, scan option "confirm before sending" only works with glass, not feeder

We're using a Canon iR ADV 525 III, and we're scanning to a network (SMB) share. We've encountered two issues regarding the "confirm before sending" option, which is meant to have the user confirm the scan destination prior to scanning and sending the documents to that destination:

1. When checking "confirm before sending" in the web UI, the user is prompted at the printer to enter a username and password, presumably for the SMB credentials. The password field is blank, despite having already set the username and password in the web UI. The only way we found to solve this is by checking the box for "confirm before sending" in the address book destination in the web UI, then unchecking it on the printer's interface - doing this once seems to persist the behavior indefinitely for that address book destination. It will still ask to confirm before sending, and it doesn't pop up the incomplete username/password input box.

2. In relation to "confirm before sending", it appears to only work for scans on the glass. Scans on the feeder will immediately scan and be sent to the destination network folder without confirmation, but scans on the glass pause and wait for confirmation first.

The only setting pertaining to "confirm before sending" that I can find on the printer's web UI is the individual setting in each registered destination in the address book. By checking that option there, but then unchecking it one time on the printer interface (standing at the machine), we get the desired behavior for glass scans but not feeder scans.

Any ideas on what might be causing this odd behavior?

Pictured below is the username/password prompt that appears when "confirm before sending" is checked in the web interface.
