Canon Pro 4100 will not power on.

I was printing a job a few days ago on the canon pro 4100 all of a sudden the printer turned off during the job and will not power back on. I think it may be the power supply? any input/ advice to resetting or fixing this issue would be greatly appreciated.

How did the printer turn off?

  • No reason at all.
  • A power chord was accidentally unplugged.
  • A power strip was turned off unexpectedly.
  • The breaker panel was overloaded and flipped.
  • There was a power outage.
  • There were electrical surges.

Any of those things could have shorted the power supply. If so, I think the power supply would need to be replaced.

  1. I would start with unplugging the power chord from the printer.
  2. Make sure the power chord is the correct watt and amp that matches with the printers needs. It's possible to use a power chord that will physically fit into the printer but may not supply the correct amount of power to the printer. It is often hard to read but somewhere on the plug it should say.
  3. Plug the printer into a battery backup surge protector.
  4. Turn the battery backup on and then turn the printer on.

If that doesn't work I would call the Canon 1-800 number. They have been really helpful!
