wifi function on canon pixma mx 495 not working

Hi  - I am hoping that someone here will be able to help. My printer is wireless and usually works a treat. However over the last few days after 1 print it goes offline, and the screen of the printer shows an x beside wifi

I have attached an image for clarification.

Can anyone shed light or help?
