We use a MF743Cdw at our office. About once a month it goes offline. We do not use WiFi to print to it, it is connected via USB. Normally we need to download the driver, again, and restart both the printer and the computer. This time, we have downloaded the driver, removed the printer, reinstalled, restarted, and followed all of the other trouble shoot on the website and we have not yet found a solution. Does anyone have any suggestions at this time? We have tried to switch to the WiFi printing but that did not work. We do not have access to an ethernet cable at this time. The computer connected is a MacBook Air using Sonoma V.14

Hello,

An offline connection would point to a connection issue. In this situation, you can check if the computer can detect the USB cable or switch to another port on try another cable.

You can click on the apple in the upper left-hand corner and then click on system settings. In system settings, you can click on the option for printers and scanners. In printers and scanners, you can click on the option to add a printer.

In the add a printer window that comes up, you can check if the printer appears. It should show up even if the drivers are not installed. If the printer is missing from the list, it would mean the computer is unable to detect it over USB.

In that situation, you can try another USB cable or switching to another port. If the list is still blank, I would suggest contacting support over the phone at 1-800-652-2666. They can check the hardware and connection to see what is going on.
