Recently update my router and NIC, had to re-assign IP's etc then I found my desktop and the wifes machine couldn't see the printer, so I decided to try to re-install. Both wouldn't detect, with or without the IP given.
Downloaded the Canon app on my Android, found the printer, re-installed the driver on my laptop and another machine, found the printer.
So, I'm putting it down to the recent new NIC and I don't know where to look to change on the NIC or the printer?
Edit: Forgot to mention, I made sure I was on the latest Firmware.
I'm looking for some ideas/thoughts on why this might be happening?
Thanks and Regards.

Sooooooo, turned out even with reaching out to support, and buying a new 2.5 card for testing, my new router that supports 2.5 (hence needing the new cards) deep in the menu system, they have an 'auto isolation' even though I'd set up a IOT WiFi for a few things I have around the house, and I didn't RTFM (who does these days), yeah, that is why the printer wasn't being detected or allowed to be pinged from my two machines.
Anyways, if someone stumbles across this question/reply, they might have something to look for and check that might not have been on the forefront of their thought process.

Greetings ,
It's unlikely a firmware update would correct or have anything to do with detection or network connectivity.
You said initially your wife's machine didn't detect the printer, so it has nothing to do with the BrosTrend network card that you installed in your PC.
Network and detection issues are usually related to the software environment, firewall or network configuration (router).
The network adapter on the printer (wireless or ethernet) is not user upgradable. You can make modifications to its settings in the remote UI. You can assign an IP address, SM and GW. You can also tell it to accept DHCP assignment or to use manual assignment.
Suggestion: I leave mine set to DHCP. I have IPs reserved on the router by MAC address. The printer always gets the same IP since the router will never give the reserved IP to another device on the network.
Once the printer has a statically assigned IP, you can try pinging it from the computer you're trying to install it on. If you don't get a reply, check the windows firewall. If you have a 3rd party antivirus solution installed, this might cause a communication issue.
I'd be curious to know more about your router, brand, model and configuration. I would look at my software environment and it as the potential causes for detection issues.

No, I said, both my machine and the wifes machine stopped detecting after the 2.5 card was installed.
I leave things left to DHCP and set my router to assign the IP's, the only thing I manually change is the DNS to a machine that is running pihole, but even that was disabled for testing.
For it to work, then the new network card, then it doesn't work, but still works on other machines on the network, I am thinking it's the network card, I'll put a support ticket into the company.
