imageCLASS MF4880dw on an ARM Snapdragon

Has anyone had any success getting an old MF4880dw to work with a new Qualcomm Snapdragon ARM laptop?

I have tried every generic ARM printer driver under the sun, except the IPP driver which I do not think can be use (because the MF4880dw is not MOPRIA certified - see https://mopria.org/certified-products).

A bit more info: the printer is sitting on the network, so the printer driver must communicate with the printer via a standard LPR/TCP/IP port.

Thanks for posting!

While our Forum Community members are welcome to chime in, the Canon ImageClass MF4880dw has been retired. That means we do not offer support for the printer or updated drivers. We recommend updating to a more modern printer and reaching out to our Canon Upgrade Program specialist who will go over the best options for upgrading your printer. They can be reached at 866-443-8002.

Translation: we recommend throwing a perfectly good printer into a garbage dump, and acquiescing to consumerism, there-by wasting the planest resources, simply because we, Canon, cannot be bothered to produce ARM drivers, like every other major printer manufacturer. I.e. we refuse to support our legacy customers unless they fall for the "more modern" b.s. and give us more money.

This is an ansolutely disgraceful answer.
