I hope this doesn't get too complicated;
I had a network set up with a Verizon DSL connect to a local home network. I could never get the MX450 to be reognized , or connect to this network.
I have since been upgraded to Verizon FIOS , have a new Fios G1100 router. I retried setup to wireless connection, and now I CAN see the printer on both network computers, however, I was unable to print from the wireless connected printer.
Here is the present setup:
HP Pavillion Desktop running Win 10 connects via Ethernet ( or I could connect WiFi if desired)
SonyVAIO laptop running VISTA/SP2 connects via WiFi
Both computers see the printer on Net Work and/or Ntwk and Sharing screen.
I set this new configuration before I saw that some new drivers were available for both the VISTA and WIN 10 OS's.
I also noticed that I now have to listings for tje printer MX450 series printer and MX450 series printer WS both having same properties.
My questions are:
Should I download and install the new drivers?
Do I install drivers on each computer per OS?
Do I have to load all new drivers on both computers?
Should printer be On or Off when installing new drivers?
Whch printer name do I use and set as default (MX450 or MX450 WS)?

OK Michsel, thanks for your responses. Like I said, additional printers showing so far is not a problen. so for noe I'll ignore them. No idea on what the WS designation means?

Hello.
It may be best to uninstall the drivers on each computer, then reinstall.
Uninstall the MX450 Series MP Drivers and the IJ Network Tool on each system.
Then visit www.canon.com/support to download and install the latest MP Drivers on each computer.

OK got that. I thought of that I'll let ypuafter posting questions. So install VISTA drivers on VISTA machine and Win 10 drivers on Win 10 machine, correct? I'll let you know. Any ideas on the two listings for the printer?
Thanks for you response.

Hi. I did as you suggested on my VISTA laptop. Took me a while to be able to remove existing drivers. Finally saw somewhere was said remove drivers in Ctrl Pnl > Programs >Remove. I guess this is proper way to accomplish this task. I then opened mast-win-mx450-1_0-ucd.exe. which contained the setup and driver files for the MX450. After completion, I could see the printer on the network map, but was unable to print to it. I then opened xp68-win-mx450-5_65-ejs.exe which states this is a printer driver for Canon IJ printers, XPS printer drivers .
After installing files and drivers from tjis source, I am now filly functional with the MX450 as a wireless connected printer for my laptop and a USB connected printer for the desktop. I did NOT as yet update the drivers in the Win 19 desktop, since I'm happy with the setuo.
There is one more question though, I now have 2(two) printers listed under my printers window. One is named Canon MX450 series Printer the other is named Canon MX450 series Printer WS. This also shows on VISTA printer screen and Ntw Map. The WS printer is the only one that connecte to the network, and is staus "ready" on VISTA printer page (other MX sows offline).
This does'nt seem to a problem, but do you have any idea what this is? ( I think WS is something about Web Service)
