SELPHY CP1500 loses network connection

Handsomekilla

I frequently get errors when printing to my Selphy CP1500 from iOS Photos: “An error occurred printing this document.” I find that sometimes powering down and then back up the Selphy corrects the problem. More reliably, restarting my wi-fi router fixes the problem—this afternoon after a fresh reboot of the router, the Selphy started printing again.

Inevitably though the problem comes back. Does anyone know how to prevent this? Would an IP address reservation on my router help?

Hi Handsomekilla,

Please try disabling IPv6 on your SELPHY CP1500.  This will force your router to use IPv4, which should resolve the communication error you are experiencing.

To do this, please follow these steps:

1.  From the Home screen on your SELPHY CP1500, please use the arrows to select Wi-Fi and press OK.

2.  Select "Other Settings" and press OK.

3.  Select IPv4/IPv6 Settings and press OK.

4.  Select IPv6 and press OK.

5.  Select Disable and press OK.

Patrick, thanks for the reply. I tried disabling IPv6 as per your instructions. I’m still having erratic problems communicating with the SELPHY. In some instances after I hit Print, I’ll get a message that the printer is no longer available. In other instances I’ll get the same error I’ve seen before: “An error occurred printing this document.”

Can I try anything else?
