Professional Print and Layout (ver1.6.1) stopped printing. Pixma Pro 200, Windows11

Have been using PPL (ver1.6.0) for the last 1 1/2 years with no problem.  Last printed about 3 weeks ago. Tried printing last night, and it seems to have stopped communicating with printer Pro-200.  Using USB for connection.  Windows test print works fine.  Win 11 Home ver 25H2.  I tried uninstalling PPL deleting PPL folders in ProgramFiles and Users, rebooting and installing PPL ver1.6.1.  Within PPL tried deleting and adding printer, but Pro200 is the only printer.  Behavior of PPL and error reported is the same as if I disconnect the USB cable.  Printer shows no error and stays idle.  Any ideas on solving problem?

Windows test print on the Pro 200?  That sounds like the Canon driver may have gotten replaced by the default Windows driver.

There is an relatively new driver for your printerhttps://www.usa.canon.com/support/p/pixma-pro-200.  I suggest that you download it and install it.  Be aware that reinstalling PPL doesn't actually perform a clean install.  If the driver doesn't work, please follow the instructions for a clean PPL install at https://community.usa.canon.com/t5/Printer-Software-Networking/Professional-Print-and-Layout-Canon-i...

Installed new driver(v1.02), and followed instructions for a clean install of PPL 1.6.1.  Still does not communicate with pro-200.

When you say "communicate" you said the Windows test page DOES print so the computer is communicating with the printer but PP&L isn't working, correct?

Yes, computer is communicating with printer.  Windows print test page works.  PPL does not seem to communicate with printer.  I did go thru the procedure of uninstalling PPL, deleting PPL folder in Program Files and User///Roaming, empty trash, reboot and reinstall PPL.

OK, you seem pretty computer savvy, so I'm assuming you are familiar with Device Manager.  If you go there, you should see Print Queues.  Does the printer show up there?  You can right click and try "Update Driver" and ensure you browse to the new Canon driver.   If that doesn't work, I suggest that you try "Uninstall Device", reboot, then use the PRO-200 Driver setup package (Windows) from the Pro-200 support page at https://www.usa.canon.com/support/p/pixma-pro-200.   This should get your printer back in line for it to communicate with PPL - I hope.  Then you can update the driver.

If, for some reason, the printer isn't listed as "Canon Pro-200 Series" (or something very close to that) in the Device Manager then perhaps you can just run the  PRO-200 Driver setup package (Windows) and see what happens, but I doubt that will be the case.

Anyway, a couple new things to try.  PPL somehow isn't recognizing the printer as a compatible Canon device.

Finally got it working!  Not smoothly though, multiple attempts.

Try 1 - Uninstalled Pro-200 from Device Manager Print Queues, reboot, then used driver setup (mcd). PPL still did not work.

Try 2 - Uninstalled Pro-200 again from Print Queues, then uninstalled all Canon programs, and folders in Program Data and Roaming.  Then used Driver Setup (mcd).  Driver Setup program hung at step 3 and did not finish.  Looking at Device Manager Print Queues, Pro-200 not found.

Try 3 - Used the Driver Install pd__-win-pro_200-1_02-ea34_2.exe .  Pro-200 now found in Print Queues.  PPL installed, and now working!
