Thanks for posting!

While our Forum Community members are welcome to chime in, the Canon PIXMA iP1700 has been retired. That means we do not offer support for the printer or updated drivers. We recommend updating to a more modern printer and reaching out to our Canon Upgrade Program specialist who will go over the best options for upgrading your printer. They can be reached at 866-443-8002.

Instead of using the automatic way of finding the driver, go to the Canon website where one can name the printer and find drivers for it.  There will not be a driver for your newer computer, say Win11, but often the most recent driver available will still work.  I have used a  Canon Win10 driver on a Win11 computer. Even a Win8.1 driver worked until the printer didn't..

I have a brand new PIXMA i1700 still in box. Never opened.

Canon drivers for Windows 7 drivers are the latest from Canon support. Good luck, hopefully it will work with 11.  New Canon printers are very inexpensive right now.

Respectfully, don't do this to yourself. Would you use a 20-year-old cell phone or a 20-year-old computer?  There's nothing magic about trying to install a 20-year-old peripheral even if it's new. Let It go.  😉

A 20-year-old computer can have its uses. Don't assume.😊

I'll respond to your comment in a PM 😉
