PIXMA TR8620 printer will not connect to 5G wireless

I just got a PIXMA TR8620 because my 11 year old PIXMA was not compatible with 5G. I was assured that the TR8620 IS 5G compatible. However, when I set up the Wifi, the 5G option on my network did not show up. I just got a new ARRIS gateway with both 2.4 and 5 G. Why will my new printer only connect on the 2.4 G?

Hi CarolynB,

The PIXMA TR8620 can only connect to 2.4GHz wireless networks.  It will not connect to 5GHz wireless networks.

This is shown in the specifications of the printer:

Standard Interface - Wi-Fi® (Wireless LAN, 2.4 GHz, IEEE 802.11b/g/n)
