PIXMA TR8620 IJ Scan Utility triggered but then claims it is not communicating

I am running WIndows 11 and have the IJ Scan Utility installed for my TR8620 PIXMA Canon printer/scanner.

When I press one of the scan tokens on the printer screen, IJ Scan utility starts up on my PC, but then claims that it "Cannot communicate with scanner"

When I press one of the scan buttons on the IJ Scan utility, the scanner starts to scan, but then IJ Scan utility claims "Cannot communicate with scanner"

If it could not communicate with the scanner, then why does pressing scan on the scanner machine start IJ scan utility and why does hitting one of the scan buttons on the IJ scan utility start the scanner machine?!?!?!  Is there some sort of time out that is much to short?  Can this be corrected?

Hi cgbertrand,

When you open the IJ Scan Utility on your computer and click the Photo or the Document button, an error appears, correct?

What is the error code that appears at the bottom of that error message?
