I have an older MX922 Printer which is connected wirelessly to my LAN.. Approximately one week ago some of my programs (like Quicken, Windows Fax and Scan) cannot find a scanner when I try to scan. Some other programs have no problems to scan. I have a Microsoft Surface P8 running Windows 11. The scan function was working perfectly fine for all programs for the last 3 years (since I bought the Surface P8).
Before I used a Microsoft Surface P4 running Windows 10 (64bit). This computer is still working and I use it mainly for backups. On this computer I still can scan with all programs. So I checked the installed drivers on both computers and I found the following differences.
On the Surface P4 there is a driver called Canon MX920 series Printer WS. This driver is missing on my Surface P8. Another missing entry I found in the Device Manager under Imaging Devices. On my Surface P4 there is an entry MX920 series_ followed by, What I assume, is the MAC address of the printer.
I installed the drivers 3 times on my Surface P8 but it never installed a driver called Canon MX920 series Printer WS. And there is no entry in the Device Manager.
Does anybody know how to get the Canon MX920 series Printer WS driver? I know the WS stands for Web Services but this driver is not on Canon support page for the MX922.
Thank y'all.
