I have a Pixma MX850 printer that is now discontinued by Canon, but mine still works great. It's a real workhorse. However, Canon did not update the printer drivers when Microsoft went from Windows 8.1 to Windows 10. I have been able to use the printer, copy, and fax functions from my desktop computer running Windows 10, but not the scan function. I kept my laptop computer running Windows 8.1 because I could still use it to scan from the printer as well as print from it. This would be fine except that my laptop is 16 years old, and my desktop is 10 years old, and both are on their last legs. I have replaced my laptop with a new one running Windows 11 but have decided not to use my desktop any longer. My dilemma is that, since my Pixma MX850 works fine, I'd like to keep it, but it is useless to me unless I can get it to work with a Windows 11 laptop. Does anyone have any ideas how I might be able to get the printer to work with all functions from my Windows 11 laptop? Thank you for your help.

While our Forum Community members are welcome to chime in, the Canon PIXMA MX850 has been retired. That means we do not offer support for the printer or updated drivers. We recommend updating to a more modern printer and reaching out to our Canon Upgrade Program specialist who will go over the best options for upgrading your printer.
