Hello!

So that the Community can help you better, we will need to know more information.

What is the exact model printer you're using (it's usually on the top or front of the unit)?
Do you see any error messages?
Which Computer Operating System are you using (Windows 7/8/10/11 or macOS 10/11/12)?
How do you connect to your printer (USB or WiFi)?
Any other details you'd like to give will only help the Community better understand your issue.

Hi Arthur, thank you for responding to my incomplete message.

I'm using Widows 11 and I have a Canon Pixma GM 2040 inkjet printer that is connected via my wi-fi. The printer switches itself off after a while when it's not in use and then when I want to print I get a "printer offline" message. I always battle to solve the problem. What is the easiest way to overcome this problem?

Greetings,

The GM2040 does not appear to be a model sold or supported in the United States.  Based on your description, I would attempt to adjust the printer's power management or ECO settings so the printer does not power off or go to sleep.

You should be able to find information about this in its manual.
