PIXMA G3060 won't connect to Chromebook

I have a similar problem with my G3060 and Acer Chromebook, but when I click SAVE and manually enter the printer manuf. and model  and click add, the G3060 is listed in saved printers but says "not connected to printer"

I should have been more specific.  I am not trying to use the Cannon app, but rather just connect the G3060.  It used to work but now I get the  "not connected to printer" error.   When I remove the printer and try to add per your instructions, I still get the same error.
