My operating systems is Windows 8 and my MX870 scanner is not working

I am using Windows 8 and my MX870 scanner is not working.  In MP Navigator, it will not let me scan.  the Windows scanner is telling me that it cannot detect a scanner.  I am using it as a wireless device.  I'm thinking my settings might be messed up.  The scanner used to work.

Hi Suzettarae,

If you have any antivirus or firewall programs installed on your computer, please temporarily disable them and then attempt to scan again.  Sometimes these programs can block the scanning process.  You will also want to ensure that the IJ Network Scan Utility is running in order to scan wirelessly.
