My easy-to-use friend for decades, my BJ-200, just died. Trying to "upgrade" to a MultiPASS 800. Plugged it into my Win7 Thinkpad and it said, "your plug and play device is ready to use". (It might have been referring to the USB adapter cable rather than the printer/fax.)
When I try to print it says you must install a printer. When I try, I find no Multipass among the Canon drivers already in my Windows package. When I go to Canon driver site there are several MultiPASS drivers, but no 800.
Is there a driver that will work for this machine that might be named for a different one?

Welcome to the Canon Community, Danfax!
Wow! What classics! The Multipass 800 which was first released in 1996, has been out of service life since 2004, meaning no software has been updated for it in over two decades. It's highly unlikely you'll find any software written for such an older model, but if you do, please share it here.
If interested in upgrading to something a bit more modern, please contact our Canon Upgrade Program Specialists at 1-866-443-8002, available Monday through Friday.
