I have recently got a new wifi hotspot and am having troubles with my printer connecting to it.  The printer can "find" my wifi but will not connect.

Greetings,

For network connection, the printer requires a 2.4Ghz network broadcast that supports WPA2 encryption.  Please ensure your network meets these requirements.

Hints:

If this is a dual or tri band router/ hotspot and it uses the same SSID name for multiple broadcasts, you may want to give each network a unique name or temporarily disable the broadcasts that the printer can't connect to temporarily, then re-enable them once a connection is made.  If the broadcast is using WPA3 encryption, the printer will not connect.  You can use WPA3/WPA2 for backwards compatibility or WPA2 (only) if a dual option is not offered.

If you are trying to use a cell phone as a hotspot, this is not recommended. The MB2720 supports Wireless Direct.  This allows a wireless Device like a computer, cell phone or tablet to connect directly to the printer.

To use this feature, you need to change the printer's wireless mode.

Tap the HOME button on the screen.

Tap Device settings.

Tap LAN settings.

Tap Change LAN.

Tap Activate direct connect and then Yes.

The printer will display the network name (SSID) and password for the direct connection. Note  this information.  Now open the wireless settings on your device and connect to the printer's network.

It would be helpful if you could answer @Tiffany's questions should you need to more assistance.
