MG5770 Cannot see my wireless router

Wetcoaster

Trying to connect my MG5770 via wireless thru a Netgear Nighthawk X4S AC2600 Model R7800 router. The printer does not see the wireless router!

I have both 2.4G and 5G networls but it will not detect my router. It sees my neighbours routers!! and I have no problem connecting my PC, iPad, iPhone(x2) and MacBook.

Any ideas?

Ian

Before attempting more complex troubleshooting, make sure that you haven't overlooked some simple steps. The printer must be plugged in, powered on, and within range of the wireless network. Moving the printer or router even a few feet can disrupt the Wi-Fi connection between the two, especially if there are walls, supports, or metal filing cabinets in the vicinity. Make sure that the network itself is up and running -- in other words, that the wireless router can still find the individual computers, and vice versa.

Router Issues

Even though the router itself is wireless, the printers may not be. You may have assumed that the printer had wireless capability, when it instead uses a USB or Ethernet port -- or even an older parallel port -- for network connectivity. If the printer is definitely wired, double-check the physical connection and swap the cable if necessary. If the printer is wireless, the router's built-in firewall may be blocking the printer's IP address as an unrecognized device; you may need to temporarily disable the firewall in order to register or add the address to the router's trusted device list, also known as a whitelist.

Regards,

Christian
