Greetings,

Wireless:

The printer requires a 2.4Ghz broadcast that supports WPA2 encryption.

Ethernet:

The printer comes preset for DHCP.  If you plug it into a network that has a DHCP server, it will accept an IP assignment.

If changes were made to its remote configuration it may not be correctly configured.

You can utilize the printers LCD to check connection to either interface.

You need to pick a connection method and work from there.

Log into the router or DHCP server and confirm/ensure it's properly configured for the connection method (Wireless).  Or confirm what happens when an Ethernet cable is connected.  Is the connection detected, etc?

Router or DHCP server:

Review the list of attached devices or the log for connection failures.  You can also use the printers LCD to troubleshoot.

Another option would be to reset the printer's settings to defaults.  This is probably not necessary, but we do not have much information about the environment or it's previous configuration.

  Thank you for response.

The issues all started when Comcast upgraded the modem. During the course of the day the wired connection would fail. Routers were unpowered and powered back up and connection restored. Found out that some of the issue was an issue that Comcast had in the area. Other concern was whether the routers were too old ( 5+ years). Disconnected the puters and the printer from wired connection and establishe wireless connection. This worked for over a week to where the printer lost connection early afternoon.

Wireless:

The printer requires a 2.4Ghz broadcast that supports WPA2 encryption.  This it has.

Ethernet:  Router does not recognize it.

Direct USB attachment to one of the puters does not print. Device Manager sees it ( so it says) but no function is available.

Greetings,

You appear to have uncertainty or instability in your environment.  You need to pick one connection method. Then work with that to resolution.

What modem do you have,  XB6, 7 or 8

If you want to use the printer wirelessly, I suggest logging in and monitoring the activities while you troubleshoot.

Some comcast devices come preconfigured to use the same SSID name for all broadcasts.  They rely on a feature called bandwidth steering which is not always optimal for single band devices like printers.  Sometimes separating the bands giving them unique names can help.  Sometimes just temporarily disabling the 5, 6 or 7G broadcasts while connecting a 2.4Ghz device helps.  Then you can turn them back on.

Does your printer see the modem/router's broadcast.  Use the printer's LCD.  Tab the wireless icon at the bottom of the screen.  You should see the network names of any 2.4Ghz broadcasts within range.  Select the name, security type and enter the network's password. If it doesn't connect, there is likely an issue with the router's network configuration or broadcast.

At this point it might be wise to reset the printer's settings to defaults.  You can do this through the printer's LCD.

If you want to use the printer wirelessly, I suggest logging in and monitoring the activities while you troubleshoot.  There is no activity. The puter does no see the printer. The printer will not log into the wifi.

The same password it used initially. Two days ago it was working wirelessly until early afternoon and then stopped and will not log back on.. If it doesn't connect, there is likely an issue with the router's network configuration or broadcast.

At this point it might be wise to reset the printer's settings to defaults.  You can do this through the printer's LCD. Did this. No response. Ran direct line from the computer to the printer bypassing routers. Did not respond. After restoring defaults and failing wireless, used the direct connection. Sent test page, printer responded, but told me that there was no paper in the drawer. Went into the paper/drawer feature and pressed the Tray 2 and it printed. Every attempt to print be it test or from a document would do the same thing.

Comcast came out.

The modem took it upon it self to reset it self. This disconnected the front office computer and printer from the network. Both viewed the domain but would not accept the password that was already set. Off site resets of the modem did not work as it simply restored the condition that the modem it self supposedly did.

The modem has now been reset to domain and password that at this time seems to be working with the front office computer direct connection to the front office router to the modem. Printer to modem via wifi. Back office puter to modem by wifi and to printer via wifi. Person from Comcast had stated that the modem that was installed is a little finicky.
