imageCLASS D1320 Canon Print on iOS

Trying to add an old but perfectly serviceable D1320 so I can print from my iPad and phone.  What happened to the ability to enter an IP address for the printer which is plugged into my network with a cable!

Thanks for posting!

While our Forum Community members are welcome to chime in, the Canon imageCLASS D1320 has been retired. That means we do not offer support for the printer or updated drivers. We recommend updating to a more modern printer and reaching out to our Canon Upgrade Program specialist who will go over the best options for upgrading your printer. They can be reached at 866-443-8002.

Accessing Ethernet Settings

To change the Ethernet settings on the imageCLASS D1320, follow these steps:

  1. Access the Network Settings Menu
Navigate to the network settings menu on the printer.
  2. Specify TCP/IP Settings
You will need to configure the following settings:

    • IP Address: Enter the desired IP address for the printer.
    • DNS Settings: Configure the primary and secondary DNS server addresses as needed.

Important Considerations

Complete Setup

  • Ensure that your computer and network device setup is complete. This is crucial for the printer to function correctly on the network.

Configuration Steps

  • After accessing the network settings, you may need to check the operation by displaying the Remote UI of the machine to confirm that the settings are applied correctly.

Apologies Derrick I wasn’t clear.  The printer is working fine on the network and I have my iPhone using the older version of the CanonPrint software talking to it.  In that old version you could enter the ip address of the printer, it would then be able to setup the printer.   In the latest version of the app I can’t find how to enter the IP address of the printer.

if this is deliberate to force people to pay quite a bit of money to replace a perfectly good working printer I consider it unethical behavior by Canon.  I’m not asking for support for the printer I just expect to be able to continue to connect to it using the tools that Canon supplies and supports for the purpose.

Thanks for any help!

Greetings,

The latest version of the Canon Print App allows to you search for and add your printer by its IP address.

I am away from home and don't have access to an iOS device to verify, but am confident it has the same functionality as Android.

One important note:  If you're not using a static IP for your printer, adding it using a dynamically assigned IP is not going to work in the long run.

I’m on Version 3.7 and I can’t find how to get to that Manual Search page.  And yes I have both my old printers on static IPs.  When you get home I would really appreciate you looking how to get to that screen in the iOS version.

Try pressing Add/Switch, then press +Register Printer, then press If printer cannot be found.

When the dialog displays is your printer one of the series listed below, press yes.  Then press manual search.  You should see the dialog I referenced.
