Error installing firmware update for PIXMA TS9520

Printer Firmware Updater (Mac) for TS9500a series Ver.4.032 has appeared as a download for the TS9520 printer.

I have downloaded and followed the instructions to install. I am using a Mac Neo with MacOS27 installed utilizing a USB-C to USB-B cable.

Current firmware is 1.110

Update firmware is 4.032

Following instructions, this is the message I get.

An error occurred during the printer function update.

The printer function update has not been completed.

Check that the printer and the PC are connected correctly with a USB cable.

Then restart the utility.

You cannot update your printer using a utility downloaded from a website in a different country or region from where your printer was purchased.

Download the utility from the website of the country or region where the printer was purchased, and use this to update your printer.

Should this firmware even be posted? Please help.

Is your printer connected to a wireless network? 

If so, try upgrading the printer's firmware from its control panel.  This is the method I use. I've found it to be much more reliable.

Yes, you are correct. However, when I check for a firmware update from the control panel, it indicates I am up to date with 1.110

Why is 4.032 firmware posted on the Canon website as the latest firmware?

The web site is incorrect.  Thank you for bringing this to our attention.

The 4.032 version is for the PIXMA TS9520a, not the TS9520.

The TS9520a's firmware should not be listed on that page.

The 1.110 firmware that is currently installed on your PIXMA TS9520 is the latest version.
