Canon TS5170 printing very very slowly after introducing a new Mesh router

Hello good folks!

I used to connect my TS5170 to a ASUS Lyra mesh router, and after it died, I switched to a TP Link Deco mesh router. However, my printer now prints abysmally slowly when connected to the Deco router. It prints one line every 20-30sec, and takes about 5 minutes to complete one page of printing, and sometimes aborts the print halfway through.

Some facts to help troubleshooting:

  1. My SSID and password is the same (across the Lyra and Deco)
  2. My printer IP has been set to static
  3. I have configured my router to force my printer to use only 2.4GHz
  4. All other devices (phones, TV) have no problems on the network
  5. I have tried switching off and on my printer, laptop, routers.
  6. I have tried removing the printer from my Windows Devices, uninstalled all Canon software and drivers, restarted my computer, and reinstalled everything again. No dice.

Some observations from my troubleshooting efforts:

  1. The slow printing is only when I connect the printer to a particular node in the study - when I physically move the printer into the living room (where the master node is), and the bedroom (where there is another node), the printing occurs normally. The study room node is connected directly to the living room's master node. I physically swapped the router units between the bedroom and the study, to no avail.
  2. It is slow to print across both IOS devices and Windows. On Windows, in the midst of printing, I get a Rundll32 error window, which tells me my printer is "offline", while in actual fact it is still printing (albeit very slowly at the speed of one line per 30sec). The printer will then come back online after the print job is done.

I have looked on the internet for ways to troubleshoot it, going from the printer, to the router, but have not managed to solve it. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

TIA!
