the application is the MP navigator, no special settings that i know of. When you select scan option it'll scan the document and when it brings document up for viewing in the MP navigator applicatoin you can see that it scanned only half and when you observethe function of scanning with lid up while scanning you can see the light bar come across half way lit up and then goes dark(light out).

Because only half of the scanning element is illuminating, it is recommended that you contact live technical support . There is NO charge for this call. Real time feedback of a live technical support call would be very beneficial in this case.
