Hello Jasongeyser1,

You can go into the Menu and adjust the volume of sounds, like the startup sound etc.  To adjust the playback sound of a recorded movie, you would press the UP button to restore sound.  Then use the UP and DOWN buttons to adjust the volume.

When you are in playback mode reviewing a movie you need but press up or down on the selection dial on the back of the camera.  You'll see that's the one that has FUNC/ SET in the middle.  Pressing up or down raises or lowers the volume.
