canon elph 100 keeps going black

ive had this camera for multiple years but its been off for about 4 yesterday i turned it on with a new batter and sd card and tried to take a picture but whenever i press the button it goes completely black and the only way it turns back on is if i reset it or press the play button on the bottom sometimes it’ll take the picture and show the saved screen but then itll go black and ill have to restart the process and the picture wont save it is a canon elph 100
