I switched computers and trying to download pictures to my computer, windows 8 (with start8 interface).
I download from canon site 13-9_win7_win8_64_dd_ccc_whql.exe which is the softwaare for the powershot a570.
On my old Vista system plugging in the camera would open window to download puctures.
After installing the software I plug in the camera and nothing happens.
When I ran the ImageBrowser_EX file it loaded the first 1000 pictures from my O:pictures
Did I install the correct software. It was all I found on the site?
Did I mess up the download?
The camera seems to stay on while plugged in.

Hi stache!
Thanks for posting.
What you probably used on your Vista computer to download the images was Canon CameraWindow. The latest version of CameraWindow is required for Windows 8. However, the later versions of CameraWindow no longer support the PowerShot A570 IS. It may still be possible to download the images, but you will need to use image downloading software that is built into Windows to accomplish this. The best way for you to get images from the card to the computer is to use a card reader.
