Yes the 6L is a 1000MAH battery and will not last as long as the 6LH which is 1700MAH but it will fit

Please Canon clarify why you make these TWO DIFFERENT NB-6L and NB-6LH batteries
Info is scarce on the NB-6L and NB-6LH pages; Canon doesn't even show the capacities!
Now the "1060mAh" serigraphed on the battery itself, as visible on the NB-6LH photo, should be taken for true IMO.
I have seen elsewhere the NB-6L said 1000mAh. But if true, why would Canon enter all the fuss creating a second different product with references, stocks, etc, if for such a tiny difference? I guess there is more.
So please if someone here has a contact with Canon people, please escalate to them the need to explain: either, admit there is little diff, and creating the NB-6LH was a mistake; or, post the PRECISE specs of BOTH models, EACH including EXACT dimensions (at the tenth of a millimeter) and weights (at the centi- or milli-gram), the EXACT electricity capacity. TIA,
