Setting Image Size on Powershot A2500

I read the post to click the Func/Set button and choose 'L'. I cannot choose the 'L' because merely touching the circular selector moves the selection three places. This is a good camera but I mostly dont need those huge pics and dont wish to spend my times resizing.

Any ideas?
