When I fit a Yongnuo YN658C flash set to auto to the camera (in "A" mode) hot shoe, a sold red flash icon appears and cannot be changed. Other camera modes offer other choices, but not auto flash. The flash seems to be communicating properly with the camera and shows the same zoom, shutter and ISO.
What is the logic of always forcing the flash to fire, even when it is not needed? Does this mean I will get overexposed shots where the camera would have otherwise chosen no flash?
