Hey Folks.....
I have two of these SX600HS cameras and they work perfectly except for Date and Time retention.......I have to reset constantly!!
What button battery do they use......I can take them apart but I'd like to have 2 batteries when I actually do it!!
Thanks!!
Jack

Even if you think you can take these apart and put them back together and still have them work, we don't know that the internal battery is any standard coin cell. If it was, the ability to externally change it would likely have been part of the design. It could be something that's not standard, a soldered-on part of the camera's circuitry, or even a capacitor rather than a battery.
If you're adventurous, open up one of the cameras to explore. Save the other one. You don't need the right date and time for full function. You just won't have correct file dates.

Hey normadel.....THANKS for your reply!!
I took my red one (least important due to red) and found everything but the battery so it could be the capacitor you speak of?? Nevertheless I managed to reassembly it PERFECTLY (lotsa very small screws) and it works perfectly!!👍
There is a repair facility in California that will fix my black one for $95.00 and they have worked on my Elph just now...we'll see??
Thanks again.....more ADVENTURES ahead!!😬
