SX60 videoing automatically stops recording

I bought this great camera when it was new, and I don't usually try to record longer videos... (First failure was trying to help capture a wedding, mounted on a tripod without my monitoring.)
I have a large, fast, empty memory card and a fully charged battery. Why does the camera stop recording? And, how do I make it work right?
HELP would be appreciated!

The camera has a 30 minute recording limit.

Recording the exact same thing to my phone, it was only 24 minutes.

There is also a max file size limit imposed by file system.
