Will an sd870 is digital elph support a SanDisk Extreme class 10 SDHC UHS-1 32 gb memory card?

Bmeister1954,
The PowerShot SD870 IS supports SDHC cards, which range in capacity up to 32GB. However, it does not support the latest UHS-1 rating. This UHS-1 speed rating was made for large HD video files, which require fast recording speeds to keep up with the camera. The PowerShot SD870 IS does not record HD video, so speeds this high are not necessary.

Thanks, Mike!...... Can you recommend a large capacity SDHC or SD card for the camera, with the capability to hold short movies as well?

Bmeister1954,
Unfortunately, we are unable to recommend any specific cards that will work with your camera because we do not test the various cards available on the market. However, as long as the card you choose adheres to the basic specifications mentioned earlier, it should work fine. Also, any card that you are able to use with the camera will hold video as well as still images. There are no limitations that prevent a working card from storing video. The only time this becomes a concern is when Full HD video is involved. The higher data rates required by Full HD video require that you use a high speed card to keep up.

Yes It supports and 32GB card is good enough to store short videos.
