Powershot SX50 HS Display / Viewfinder Half Black

I purchased a Powershot SX50 HS about three months ago and have been using it daily without issue.  Yesterday when I powered it on, the view screen was half black on the left side.  When I changed the display position, the black screen switched to the other side (the right side appeared black).  When I tried to use the viewfinder, the same issue appears (left half of the screen is black).  Is this a setting problem or a repair issue?

Sounds like a repair issue unfortunately. Haven't heard too much about this being an issue on the SX50's.

You can try and perform a "Reset All" thorugh the menu and hope that is was just a software gliche otherwise it will have to be serviced and in your case it should still be under warratny.

Thanks John.  Unfortuately the "Reset All" didn't have any effect.
