PowerShot ZOOM Unresponsive

Canon PowerShot ZOOM DS126849

This camera is brand new and never used. When I look through the lens, its blank with a opaque black box. I've tried charging it, but when it's plugged in, there's no indicator light. I tried unplugging and plugging back into the charger. I've tried different charging cables. I've tried removing and replacing the MicroSD card...

I'm running out of ideas. What could be the problem?

"DS126489" does not sound like a model name. Is there another name like SX240HS?

It's the model name, I think this was a Asia and Australia/New Zealand only model.
