PowerShot SX70HS - How to Record a Video

I've used this camera for photos and now I have a need to video/audio record a presentation and would like your suggestions on how to based on the following:

Here's what I have:

  • Estimated time is 60 minutes
  • I have two fully charged Canon OEM batteries LP-E12 6.3Wh
  • I have one SanDisk Extreme PLUS 128gb SD card - will have no data when I start
  • No external mic at this time
  • Probably mounted on a tripod

Questions/Comments:

  • I may have access to a wired mic, possibly a clip-on mic - how to use these?
  • Can I use a wireless mic?
  • If only camera mic, what is range, is volume adjustable or only on playback?
  • Estimated battery life on a full charge?
  • Estimated memory usage?
  • Video range - how close/far away?
  • Tips, published directions/instructions?
  • Known how to on YouTube?
  • Anything else?

Thank you in advance for your assistance, support, guidance.

” Can I use a USB power supply such as a power bank, plug into a charging block - using appropriate cables? “

I don’t know if Canon ever sold a “battery eliminator” package with an AC adapter for the camera.  The Usrr Guide should tell you what Canon accessories are available.

The User Guide should also tell you whether you can power the camera through the USB port.

Exercise caution ⚠️ trying to power the camera using the USB port.  Be sure to follow the guidelines on the manual.  If it doesn’t specifically say how to do something, then conclude that you cannot and should not try it.
