PowerShot SX620 HS How to format my serial number?

VashJuan

I've a 2 year old Powershot SX620 HS. I want to update the firmware from 1.00 B to 1.00 C. When I go to the download page for my camera & ask for the "Digital Camera Software 7.1 [Windows]" - which appears to be what can update my firmware, it goes to [Link Removed per Guidelines]  which asks for my serial number.

There's none on my camera (rubbed off?), but I have the original product box (unlike most owners...) and now I need to figure out what format this app wants the serial number in... ARGG!

The entire line from the product box is:

S/N: 1094D002[AA] 201911 (I've changed a few digits from my actual number)

WHAT format is it looking for?! I've tried:

  • 1094D002[AA] 201911
  • 1094D002
  • 1094D002AA
  • 1094D002[AA]
  • and a few others...

The easiest thing is just to use this for the download link, avoiding all the CANON registration nonsense...

Serial numbers are apparently 10 digits in sequence - despite what the product box lable had right after the S/N: - go figure!

The Canon Utilities CameraWindow DC does allow installing new firmware, but I now need to figure out where to download the latest *.fir or *.fi2 file....

Canon seems to think the Windows operating system I'm running affects the firmware the camera will use! lol.

Greetings,

I was not aware there was updated FW available for the SX620?  Its not available on any sites I checked.

Serial number entry for cameras is the last 10 digits from right to left.  Its tricky.  I'll be interested in learning if you find updated FW for this camera.
