Trying to transfer photos from a PowerShot SX510 HS with an Interface Cable IFC-400PCU I receive a communication error on my camera. Is there something I need to do or know?

So that the community and myself can better understand what may be causing this, I need to gather some additional information from you.

 

  1. What operating system is on the computer you are connected to?
  2. Are there any other devices connected to the computer besides the camera?
  3. What software are you transfering the images into?

Thanks for responding! I have Windows 8, no other devices attached. When I attach ihe camera, no software opens as was the case with other canon cameras I have used, so I opened ZoomBrowser and try to use it to connect to my camera, but get communication error on my camera!

The program you will need to open to download from the camera is called Camera Window.  Also, ZoomBrowser EX is an older program that is no longer used with newer models like the PowerShot SX510 HS.  You will need to download and install the software for your camera.  It can be downloaded from our website.  Please refer to the link below:
