PowerShot ELPH 360 HS Won't Connect to Computer Running Sonoma 14.6.1

I have an MacBook Air with Sonoma 14.6.1 OS  - I cannot get the camera (ELPH 360 HS) to connect to the computer with a cable.  I have tried several cables to make sure its not a broken cable.  From this forum I read that this should be automatic?  Any ideas?

Aha - you just use Photo App already on the MacBook Air
