Hello!

Im new to the camera industry and I own a PowerShot A700(I know oldie) passed down from my mom! I have an SD card and it works perfectly fine but I tried to use a MicroSD card with an adapter and it doesn't work but it isn't locked, want to ask is it not compatible or something?

Greetings,

Only use full size memory cards.  Micro cards with adapters are known to cause issues.  You'll want to use smaller capacity cards as well.  I believe this camera only supports 2GB cards.  You may be challenged finding one.

Lots of deals this weekend.  Maybe it's time for an upgrade.  🙂

Hi yeah I bought a 2GB SD Card and it works perfectly fine but I also have 2 GB microSD card with adapter and it doesn't seem to work

EBay can be a source for no-longer-produced small-capacity SD cards. The camera should take up to 4 GB at least. Do you have access to a camera shop that may have old cards hanging around?

Hi honestly I don't know since im from Moldova, Eastern Europe. But the camera maximum takes 2GB since I think it was produced in 2006-2007 and I have a MicroSD 2GB card with adapter but it still doesn't work I guess

Greetings,

If the camera holds some type of sentimental value for you, keep it.

Then consider it's 17 years old.  Captures at 6MP and supports a memory card format that is difficult to procure from normal reputable sources.  eBay is iffy at best.  Sometimes you get lucky, sometimes you don't.

If you'd like to continue using the camera you'll need one or more small capacity full size memory cards.  This was the reason I suggested the possibility of an upgrade.  The direction you decide to go in is up to you.

As you have discovered, micro-SD cards do not work with the camera.  The adapters are unreliable.

Only use micro-SD cards with devices that don’t need any adapter.
