Hello friends!
Please advise. In my old Canon A2000is camera, I often have to change the batteries. I use new Eneloop 2000mAh batteries. I will charge the batteries to the maximum. I took about 20 pictures with the camera and the batteries are dead. When I put them in the charger, the charger reports that the batteries are charged.
I cleaned the contacts in the camera but it didn't help.
I also had this problem with some older Canon cameras. I couldn't fix the problem.
My old Canon A2000is takes pictures well, it would be a shame to throw it away.
Please advise how to eliminate the problem.
Thank you for your help.

Greetings,
The A2000IS is 16 yr old camera, so there isn't much we can offer as far as solutions go. You said you inspected the battery compartment, and ensured its contacts were clean. I don't know anything about the quality or integrity of Enloop rechargeable batteries. I have never had an issue with a Canon camera's power. I've had rechargeable batteries wear out after years if service, but this is expected. Maybe its time for a new camera?

Eneloops are excellent batteries. But they, as with any other rechargeable, do wear out. The charger could be giving a false report. Do you have any other batteries? Try a fresh set of alkalines to see what happens. The camera may not be done yet.
