Recently, each time I push the lever to return the lens to off position, it begins retracting, stops at about a third of an inch from the base, and extends to about half an inch from the base. It still extends to full zoom, but it smoothly refuses to return to the original position. If I turn off the camera, it returns fully. Then, if I turn it back on, it moves to that half-inch position. I put in a fresh battery and let it rest five minutes or so before turning it back on. I tried to clean the barrel with a brush and will order a can of compressed air to work with it, but I was hoping to hear from anyone else that has had this issue.
