My SX40 HS- LCD screen blank... not come on. View finder ok. Need to Reset ALL functions..cannot.

Hi,

1. Need to use the Reset ALL function to return all settings to factory....cannot select it as it is grayed out.

2. LCD screen blank/black, like it will not come on. View finder good, can take pictures with EVF and view.  Thank you.  Please help.  Pam

Have you tried pressing the DISP button a few times while the camera is on? That should take care of the blank LCD screen.

As Steve said in the shooting mode you can toggle the LCD on and off with the display button. To test if your LCD is working at all press the Play button you should see your pictures there on the LCD

Another thing I wanted to mention on your SX40HS is a book I found written specifically on that camera. It's called " A Short Course in Powershot SX40HS Photograpy". Its a full sized wired bound book 161 pages with some very usefull information for that camera as well as mine the SX50HS which is very similar. I found it on Amazon
