There was a board on this website dedicated to Memory card locked issues - no real soultions provided so starting this new solution to the problem.
I spent some time trying to figure out why my Canon PowerShot Camera flashed a message to state that my Memory Card was Blocked which meant that I could not erase images already on the SIM or format it. After taking the SIM card out of the camera, saw that there was a Yellow slide-button on the SIM card itself - slid this up and slotted it back into the camera and this definitely resolved the problem instantly.
Hope anyone experiencing the same issue finds this advice useful as no amount of pressing Camera functions will resolve it - it is all about the SIM only and where it should have a slider on the side of it.
