Hi, i’m currently having the same problem. I have the ixus 60 and have tried an old and new SDHC cards. I have also tried them in a different camera and these SDHC cards work fine. Does the ixus 60 not take SDHC or is there something wrong with my camera?
thank you.

The manual will be very clear as to which cards to use. Also, make sure to use full size cards and not a micro card with adapter

Your camera only takes SD cards "tested up to 2 GB"

SD cards that are larger and faster than what the camera needs should not be a problem, but there may be a limit.. The specs say "tested up to 2 GB" because 18 years ago (when this camera came out), 2 GB was a "large" size. It may well take 4 or 8 GB cards. But that big is overkill, capacity-wise.
You don't say what size your cards are, but if they work fine in another camera, I'd say your camera is the culprit.

But I am pretty sure that SDHC, SDXC and SDUC are right out, they have more differences than just size.

I see! Thank you so much, I have been using micro 32GB SDHC. I will try the SD 2GB.

Make sure to get a full size card. Micro's with adapters don't play well with Canons
