I have been trying to set up wifi and the mobile device connect button Is deactivated in my g5x. Any idea on how to reactivate this and any tips for setting up wi fi and using camera connect?

What mobile device are you trying to use? What procedure are you following to set it up? Do you have a copy of the camera's instruction manual?

Have you enabled the Wi-Fi in your camera? It is possible to disable it, which saves power when it is not in use. Visit the above link. Type in your model number, so that you can navigate to the G5x support page. Once there, scroll to the top of the page, and click on the red "Product Information" box. Select "Wireless Help" in the menu that appears.
