G15 Black Screen

My screen has gone completely black, it lights up when I turn it on so it is still functioning but not displaying any image. I am under impression that resetting the camera will fix this, is there a way to reset it without being able to see the menu navigation?

Hello, it's been years since you typed this comment, but I'd like to know, was your screen removable? like completely? the canon PowerShot g15 I have has the smaller ribbon cable connected to a small white box, it does not look like a tab ribbon connector and I am having a hard time trying to disconnect it without having to unsolder. Do you remember how you disconnected it?
