Flash not working on Powershot A630

Hi everyone, I was using my camera and noticed that the flash stopped working when on Auto Flash or Flash on, even in dark areas. I'll hold the down the button to take a picture and the orange light will continuously flash but not green light will appear and I'm unable to take a photo. No matter what setting I'm on, the flash just doesn't work. It was working a few months ago and I'm not sure if it might be a battery issue? Although I just changed the batteries out and then the flash stopped working.
