I have an old Canon Powershot ELPH 300 HS and the flash recently stopped working. The battery is fully charged and I also recently purchased a new battery so it is not worn out. I have the setting set to auto so it should be going off when it is darker outside but when I try to take a picture the orange light beeps but the flash doesn't work. Is there anything I could do myself to fix it? I really wanted to be able to use it this weekend!

Like you said, it is old. Thirteen years is reasonable for one of these little pocket cameras. Time to replace it. You aren't going to fix it by opening it up and looking inside.
